Subsurface Controls on Carbon Dynamics in a Changing Arctic Ecosystem (PhD ’18) Terrestrial Biological Carbon Dioxide Removal: An Ecological Perspective (MS ’12) Lydia’s research takes her to the Alaskan Arctic, where she studies soil carbon turnover and greenhouse gas emissions. Her primary interests are mechanisms of soil carbon stabilization, soil microbes, and methane. She loves being up to her knees in Arctic tundra, but tries to find time for her other interests: making art, playing old-time music, walking in the woods with her dog, and exploring the Bay Area by bike. Lydia holds an MS from ERG and a BA from Dartmouth College. Publications
