Evaluation of Social Networks and Measures of Empowerment Among Adolescent Girls in Uttar Pradesh, India (MS ’19)
Gauthami’s interdisciplinary research intersects global health, feminist theory, science technology studies, social network analysis, and development. Her dissertation focuses on how social networks impacts early childhood marriage, the impact of a leadership program on girls’ leadership and agency, and exploring the power structures within gender empowerment development programs.
Broadly, Gauthami’s research explores how the intersection between development and climate adaption impacts women and local communities. Previously, Gauthami was a technical advisor for UNICEF, a research associate in a randomized control trial, and research manager for a portfolio of water and sanitation programs. Gauthami has a MPH in Global Health from Emory University and a BS in Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology.
