Modeling and Simulation of Electric Power Systems with Large Shares of Renewable Energy (PhD ’22)
Jose Daniel was born in San José Costa Rica, received his B.Sc. and Licentiate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Costa Rica in 2009 and 2012 respectively, his M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada in 2014, and his M.S. in Energy and Resources from the University of California Berkeley in 2017. Jose is currently a PhD student at the Energy and Resources Group at the University of California Berkeley. In 2017 he received the Climate Neutrality Initiative Fellowship. He is a registered professional engineer in Costa Rica and a member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society.
Jose’s research and professional interests include analysis and simulation of power systems, microgrid design, and mathematical programming under uncertainty with applications to electricity systems operation and quantitative energy policy.
