Jalel Sager
Formerly a freelance writer and founding director of the Vietnam Green Building Council (2007-2009), Jalel remains a board member and international coordinator for Green Cities Fund (its NGO parent). In 2012 he co-founded the Southeast Asia – Renewable and Adaptive Energy (SEA-RAE) group at Berkeley. At ERG he has designed a class on ecological economics; given guest lectures on the political economy of energy and 350 ppm; and researched under Professors Paul Pierson, Daniel Kammen, and Richard Norgaard. Sager has written many articles on climate change and is US correspondent for FuturArc magazine (“The Voice of Green Architecture in Asia”). Fellowships: National Science Foundation Graduate Research; US Foreign Language and Area Studies. BA from New York University’s Gallatin School (National Merit scholarship).
