My research is on renewable energy, gender relations, and rural life. Informed by critical social theory and political economy and ecology of energy, my work pivots around the gendered dimensions of energy use in a region where large-scale ‘energy grabs’ are throwing social relations in the countryside into uncertainty. Methods I use to do this include ethnography and critical discourse analysis. Training prior to ERG includes part of a PhD in geography at Clark University and bachelor’s degrees in geography and environmental science at Georgia College & State University. When not focusing on research, I’m usually reading, board- or video-gaming, or hiking.
